Nowhere in Particular

I wish people would stop giving Chrump good advice. Some are
idiots like Chris Christie, who continues to provide aid and comfort to the
current administration and wants to keep the Orange Usurper in office so he can
finish America off once and for all. Or perhaps you prefer the only African
American Republican’t senator Tim Scott, unwilling to provide a meaningful
comment on Chrump retweeting a video of his supporters yelling “white power”
while tooling around town in golf carts. All Scott would say was that his racist
boss, who coddles Nazis and other white supremacists, should delete the tweet.
Well played sir.
Others are pundits, whose job it is to think about what is
best for our country and are paid to say smart sounding things on television. I
understand why Republican’t scum want to keep their stranglehold on the nation
and will do whatever it takes to keep their man-child in office.
The others mean well, and they know what a president is
supposed to do, and what this country needs to succeed and survive. When they
provide these bon mots they usually include a caveat like, “Not that I want to
give Chrump any advice that will help him get re-elected, but…” or “If I were
Donald Chrump, I would stop doing such-and-such and I would start doing…” Just
stop it. Luckily, he is by nature incapable of listening to anyone, but it's
just not worth the risk. Let the man be, he knows what he needs to do. He's a
very stable genius. Stay the course. Very fine people on both sides. Thousand
points of hate.
Besides, he knows more than you do about whatever your area
of expertise might be.
What would these people do if Chrump turns around and does
something smart that might make some voters decide to give him another chance?
I know we all want a better life, a better country, less suffocating ignorance
and hatred. But we can surely wait another few months to get to that. We’ve
done without anything resembling sanity for almost four years, a few more
months can’t hurt. I mean, what the hell have we got to lose? We already have a
relentless pandemic, runaway unemployment, a recession pushing to become a
depression. We have a president who is more loyal to Russia than to the United
States, whose support for anything American is restricted to our history of
racism, those white supremacists among us and the seemingly unending river of gobsmacking
ignorance, all of which have zombie-like endurance. There are very few possible
disasters that could pile on at this point; I will not try to imagine what they
might be, let alone list them here, lest I jinx the whole mess, or heaven
forbid, give the Orange Gas Cloud any ideas.
Now is the time to just keep our good intentions, truly good
ideas and well-meaning advice to ourselves. Helping the country now will only
hurt it in the long run if it helps keep Chrump in the White House one
nanosecond longer than is absolutely necessary. Let him do what he does best –
the worst thing possible in any given situation.
The risk of Chrump making things unimaginably worse over the
next four months is unquestionably a frightening prospect – he proves that more
concretely with each passing hour. However horrific this might be, it will be
just another grain of sand on the sprawling beach of what he will surely do given
another four years. If you thought post-impeachment Chrump was bad, imagine
what lame-duck Chrump would be like. Actually, don’t do that. You have too much
to live for.
One more thing. If it happens that the Electoral College
again hands the keys to the country to the current blind, drunk, suicidal
driver currently behind the wheel, but the Democrats keep the House and take
the Senate, Democrats must – the moment after they are sworn in on January 20,
2021 – bring the rest of the impeachment charges they left in their safety
deposit box against the fascist, racist, treasonous slob, convict him forthwith
and then do to Mike Pence what Mitch McConnell did to Barack Obama for the
remainder of his ill-gotten term. Along of course, with whatever other crimes
against America and/or humanity he happens to commit between now and then.
Drug-crazed, truck “driving” man – has this fuckwit ever even driven a car?
I. Mangrey recommending.
