What’s In Your Wallet?
November 3, 2021
As usual, many Americans are
frustrated with the lack of progress in Washington. And as usual, they are
blaming the wrong people. Some are blaming progressive Democrats for holding up
passage of a severely watered-down rescue package. All they can see is that
nothing is getting passed. Too few people realize that progressive Dems are
holding out for the things that will help most Americans, as opposed to
Ratpublican-lite Dems like Coal Manchin and Krysten Sinema, who are holding out
for the things their generous agonizingly-anti-altruistic corporate mega-donors
are telling them, and paying them big bucks, to hold out for.
The Twin Trollers are valiantly
standing up for Big Pharma, Big Oil and (Not-so) Big Coal, among other
corporate life-forms. Though Manchin continues to tout the greatness of the
coal industry, one cannot help but notice that the West Virginia Weasel has
clean hands (coal-wise) and clear lungs – unlike so many who live and work in
his state and for the coal companies that continue to line his pockets with
millions and millions of dollars.
More importantly, it is all too
infrequent that we hear what needs to be drummed into public consciousness non-stop
– not one single Ratpublican will ever step out of line and do what most
Americans need and want. A fair shake at a chance to live a life of something
other than measly paycheck to measly paycheck.
So many people caterwaul about
welfare, and welfare cheats, without Paying Attention™ to the real welfare
cheats – giant corporations like Exxon, who by the way takes our tax dollars
and uses them to hide their own research that proves their products are
destroying the environment in order to rake in the dough and slowly kill off
all their customers. Pretty smart business model, no? NO.
And in no small part because of
all this, Joe Biden’s approval rating is wavering around Turmp/toilet levels,
Virginia just elected Glenn Youngkin – a hedge fund bottom-feeder who worked at the same
Carlyle Group that once engorged Mitt “Corporations Are People, My Friend” Romney’s
greedy gullet. Youngkin is another Turmpian two-bit faux populist spewing
racist dog-whistles, who didn’t even have the guts to be seen in public with
his political benefactor.
As of this writing, the race
for New Jersey governor is too close to bear, as yet another Turmp wannabe is
in a tie with the state’s incumbent Democrat. Naturally, the Ratpublican is angrily claiming victory, and will undoubtedly cry “Stop The Steal” should his vote
count end up being the smaller number.
This country is in a shitload
of trouble. With a capital “T” and that rhymes with a whole bunch of things,
but more importantly spells Racist Civil War.
I. Mangrey. Period.
