Paying Attention™ DJ Ariel Baddass is taking some time off for good behavior – because she’s exhibited it, not because that’s how she plans to spend her time off. While hallucinating from all the turkey dinner, visions of Thanksgiving genocide back in the day, and too much pie yesterday, I had a vision. It came in the form of a Secret Word:

With this in mind, have at today’s playlist of oldies and goodies over this holiday weekend. You won’t be sorry. At least not any sorrier than you might already be.

Flight of the Conchords – Too Many Mutha Uckers

Dr. John – Ice Age

Dr. John – Revolution

Los Lobos – Revolution

The Beatles – Revolution

Bob Marley – Revolution

Steve Earle – The Revolution Starts Now

Gil Scott-Heron – The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

Steve Miller Band – Don't Let Nobody Turn You Around

I. Mangrey getting ready to rock and revolt

Ariel will be back soon, taking your requests and making the world safe for music. Thanks for listening. Keep that card and/or letter coming in. This is your temporary DJ, I. Mangrey saying: Fuck the fascists. Don’t let the bastards bring you down.

  2. Great post. Groucho Marx, a real comedian as opposed to the comedians in Trump's coterie of clowns, sings Pop Goes the Weasel, which is from a British nursery rhyme about poverty and having to pawn your coat. I guess Groucho saw what was coming. Loved the Los Lobos song. Steve, send me your address (kbcottrillinfo@gmail.com), I'd like to send you my book. Ken.
