This Day In World History
Today in France, they are celebrating the
anniversary of the storming of the Bastille – not to free prisoners, but to
acquire ammunition and arms for the purpose of overthrowing the monarchy. This was before anyone
had a Second Amendment, but it
was the opening salvo in the French Revolution. Slave owner and American
founding father Thomas Jefferson, serving as the young nation’s ambassador to
France, was in France on July 14, 1789, making good trouble. Jefferson had a
hand in France’s Declaration of the Rights of Man – sound familiar?
Today in America, we are six months out from
the storming of our nation’s Capital. Not to defend democracy, but to upend it.
We are on the precipice of a second Civil War. The first official Juneteenth
national holiday and another July Fourth have come and gone. Today, we are so
free it hurts to even laugh.
Most Americans do not give a flying fuck
about world history. Hell, most Americans do not give a tinker’s cuss about
American history. They do not know that Thomas Jefferson and George Washington,
among many others who signed the Declaration of Independence, owned slaves. Very
likely, they do not want to know this or any other facts, especially facts that
might fall under the purview of Critical Race Theory. But, that is a story for
another day.
One of the blonde bimbos on Fux News (as it
turns out, Kayleigh McEnany who was previously a spokesbimbo for Old President
Pussy-Grabber himself), with great alacrity and even more indignance, whined, “The
haters never take a day off from hating. That is clear. And they never take a
day off from getting the facts wrong. We know most of our forefathers, all of
our main Founding Fathers were against slavery, recognized the evils of it.”
That was on July 6, 2021. This year. On the six-month anniversary of the
storming of the United States Capitol. McEnany is no outlier, just a liar. To
be fair, she might not have been lying and instead is insanely stupid, though
my money is on both. Either way, she is a quintessential Turmpian Ratpublican.
White, witless, completely, shamelessly, cluelessly fact-free.
Kids Don’t Do The Darndest Things
I remember visiting our nation’s Capital as a
high school student. Some of us used our free time to buy fireworks and booze –
two things we could not do in Pennsylvania. Looking back, I feel bad. Not because
we engaged in inappropriate behavior by buying contraband, but because we
clearly neglected our patriotic duty. Not one of us broke any windows,
assaulted any Capitol police or even attempted to steal anything, or trespassed
in and legislators’ offices. I don’t recall any of my classmates even
contemplating taking a shit in the hallway or any of the offices. What terrible
tourists we were.
I suppose this could be chalked up to being
young and stupid, but after watching all those grown-up patriots on January 6,
2021, I feel ashamed at how little I understood and how horribly I took my
country for granted as a teenager. Apparently, my understanding and my
patriotism had not developed much over the years. If I had known better, maybe
I too would have been there on that historic day to show my raging patriotism
and tried to hang Mike Pence and helped to stop the steal of our democracy by
those 81,268,924 losers who voted for Joe Biden – over 7,000,000 more than
those who voted for the guy who insists he won by a landslide.

Omission On January 6th Insurrection
Most Americans want a full accounting of what
transpired at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Working hand-in-hand with
high-level Ratpublican officials, Democrats attempted to form a bipartisan
select commission to investigate the lead-up, the assault itself, the security
breakdowns and the post-mortem. Democrats gave Ratpublicans everything they
asked for in designing this special committee. Did I mention that Democrats
bent over backwards to ensure the select committee investigating January 6
would be bipartisan? Once negotiations concluded, Ratpublican leaders
unanimously informed the nation that they would have no part in exposing the
truth behind the January 6 insurrection. Could it be because the man they forced
upon us as their presidential nominee and a number of their colleagues in the
House were significantly complicit in the attempted coup? In a word, yes.
No one can doubt that if it had actually been
Antifa or Black Lives Matter or even George Clooney and Al Gore who mounted a
similar special tourist day at the Capitol on January 6, not only would
Ratpublicans have launched countless investigations, commissions, committees
and SWAT teams, you would have had Lindsey Lapdog Graham, Kevin Kissass
McCarthy and Mitch Fucking McConnell would be wondering aloud 24/7 on Fux News whether
we needed some Second Amendment solutions brought to bear.
Instead of protecting our nation and its
democracy, all these whiny, white weasels are complaining that the House 1/6
Commission is a one-sided political hit job. I guess they forgot the part where
they were implored to help create a bipartisan commission so that it would be,
you know…bipartisan. These malignant, miscreant motherfuckers simply will not
stop gaslighting, misdirecting and dissembling, even long after the cows come
home and have been slaughtered and eaten.
