The Unkindest Cut

Take This Bill and Shove It

Lobby Hobby
December 3, 2017
The Republican’t tax cut plan is being rammed through congress in stunning fashion. The Senate version was pushed through the other day. There was no substantive debate, and Republicant’s would not release non-partisan analyses showing that this be a fiscal disaster. The Bill, as it stands, passed the Senate by a 51-50 margin.
This was surely the Caesarian section of an unhealthy, premature piece of legislation. The Senate version of the “Wet Kiss to Corporations and Billionaires Bill”, or whatever they are calling it, was 500 pages, and given to the full Senate to read minutes before the desperate vote. Probably because there was no way they could hold all the yes votes for more than a few minutes. No one had time to read it. Nobody really knew what is in it; there were tons of hand-written, barely legible notes from lobbyists in the margins.

A page out of the Cut, Cut, Cut Bill
The leadership is promising everything to everyone to secure their vote, no matter how diametrically opposed each promise is to every other. All independent analyses are calling it a disaster. As it currently appears to stand, it will destroy public education, graduate schools, Social Security, Medicare, the middle class, poor people, sick people. Basically, anything that is not a large corporation or a very rich individual is fair game for the chopping block.
The House version would allow churches to endorse political candidates and grant personhood to fetuses. It also gives big tax breaks to owners of private planes and…wait for it…golf courses. And just for good measure, big tax cuts for wealthy heirs. Chrump and his family of idiots (this is not a judgment, it is provably true by any measure) stand to gain a billion dollars. Chrump has repeatedly lied that his beautiful tax plan will not be good for him or his very rich friends. I imagine it would take more than a billion to make it good enough for him. Chrump is draining the swamp right into his own pockets for safe keeping.
The Republican’ts are trying so desperately to pass this heinous tax cut “plan”, you’d think it was a kidney stone.
