I See Dumb People

Ides Ain’t a Marching Anymore

March 15, 2017
They Just Don’t Make ‘em Like They Used To

You might be familiar with the Ides of March as the day when Julius Ceasar was removed from office by his colleagues in the Senate. Oh for the good old days. It is very unlikely that we will have anything similar this time around. Certainly no one would wish the fate that befell Ceasar at a time such as this with a great leader such as ours. In any event, on we go with the rest of the show.
Jeff Sessions is, for the time being, Attorney General of the United States. Must be a pretty sharp cracker...I mean cookie. He was a senator for 20 years before being inflicted upon us as Attorney General little over one month ago. Session got his law degree from the prestigious University of Alabama School of Law and has been a lawyer for more than 40 years. Al Franken has been senator for approximately eight years. Before that he was a comedian. Franken was a comedian not quite as long as Sessions has been a lawyer.

Senator Franken very thoughtfully and respectfully asked Sessions a question. Sessions answered a different question than the one Franken asked. No one knows why, but Sessions’ response, bizarre as it was, and even though it was a question that he asked himself, was a lie. For some reason he said that he had never met with any Russians. Turns out he did. The reason for these meetings remains unknown, because the only one we can ask is Jeff Sessions and he is a liar. But that is not the best part. Sessions and his supporters blame Al Franken’s “gotcha question” for making Sessions perjure himself. Al Franken. And then he recused himself from any investigations having to do with Chrump and his Russian ties. Is Sessions really going with the I-was-outsmarted-by-liberal-Jew-comedian-during-my-Senate-confirmation-hearing excuse? Sessions' willingness to bite that particular bullet is not a good sign if you are one of those people obsessed with facts and reality. If nothing improper occurred then why did he feel compelled to lie about it and then suddenly recuse himself, after weeks of calls for just that falling on very large, deaf ears. I think ole Jeff BS would be better off saying, “Yeah, I lied. Now I’m the Attorney General. So what’s your point?”
How were we to know, they were with the Russians too?
