Like a moth to a flame, a driver’s eyes to a pile-up on the other side of the highway, like flies to a dung heap, it may not be the smart move, it may not be the safe move, and it sure as hell ain’t easy, but we are still here paying attention so you don’t have to. 

It’s either this or Rent-A-Coma.
There is no middle ground here at Paying Attention.

Many people are not aware of this, and hopefully most of them are Republican’ts, but there is a bit of an election next Tuesday.  We here at Paying Attention are, like a deranged racoon rifling through a poorly secured suburban garbage can, trying to keep track of all the racists…I mean races gripping the nation.  Some people are fighting to, as they see it, and though they have no idea what that means, other than keeping out brown people and reversing social progress, make America great again.  Other people are trying to make America America again.  It was never perfect, but it sure as shit wasn’t this.  As Dave Chapelle recently remarked about the so-called Chrump era, “I would not even name the era after him.  He’s getting too much credit. He’s not making the wave, he’s surfing it.”
